Cooked in Chile, served in Berlin, MØREL was born in Santiago de Chile in during the last toxic breaths of a military dictatorship. A divided country with a radical inner struggle flooded with strong emotions.
This context was held responsible for shaping a new generation of artists with an evolved approach to arts & music.

MØREL constantly navigates through a diverse cinematic spectrum of sounds, deeply rooted in fast hypnotic grooves, skills he developed at his early stages in music as a drummer and cello player (pizzicato).
Groove is the essence of movement, of music. How our internal clock (heart) is synced with any other sound in our environment in a linear way.

His approach to sound design is based on the exploration of sound as a pure phenomena. Nothing is good or bad, right or wrong, it's just the outcome of
experiencing sound and music through first hand information, trial and error. This never ending curiosity fuels his creativity of ideas that resonate to one concept :

Immerse the audience into a profound soundscape that triggers our instinct in the most primitive way.

Musik has the ability to make ourselves focus on sound as pure instinctive and intuitive beings, in sync, in the BEAT. This is the feeling I seek everytime I push play, enter a club or sail on a trip, I lose fear, I gain feel…

The Synchronization between music and our feelings I call it.. Auditory Emotions [ A.E ].

All these music productions and videos are documentation of my artistic practice exploration since I moved to Berlin in 2019.

Feelings, places, people, thoughts, emotions…

Immersive audio is term used for the recording and reproduction of a three dimensional soundfield. Basically we treat sound as exists in the real world or analogue domain, as a full-sphere surround sound format (Ambisonics).

With spatialization / spatial sound audio we enhance the listening experience by using space as a compositional element with the intention to generate an immersive experience. We are able create soundscapes, to travel sonicly into new habitats and places. Currently i’m working in a octophonic set up at Funkhaus Berlin.

Here are some Binaural tracks recently uploaded. Inspired in the work of Hans Cousto “The cosmic Octave” I took astronomical observation in terms of planets cycles, as creative inputs for musical composition for and timed based parameters (Synodic Moon). Northern Lights and Gyroscope are a mix of generative music and OSC control with machine learning to modulate certain parameters based on movement.
