A.E // Søund Design

Musiq has the ability tø make øurselves enjøy the nøw as pure intuitive and instinctive beings, in sync, in the BEAT.

This is the feeling we seek every time we push play, we enter the club ør a we sail øn a trip, we løse fear, we gain feel.

The Synchrønisatiøn between musiq and øur feelings, I call it auditøry emøtiøns… (A.E.)

Santiago - Berlin Tegel.

I Left Chile in 2019 to deep dive on electronic music production and performance, after 6 years Djing and making some music production. My background as a cellist and drummer are strong roots in this new path of discovery.

The creative idea behind this track is to express my first 3 months in berlin: Uncertainty, excitement, day & night partying, biking through the city and parks, traveling in the Sbahn looking outside the window.

“The first one to arrive will not be the one who is faster, but the one who knows where he is heading”.

Technical aspect:

- Drum rack (6 elements),

- 2 different bass lines,

-2 pianos, one arp, 2 synths. Sliced samples, arpeggiator with random and scale.

For the synths: Auto pan, auto filter, filter delay, echo as return channels.

Seek you in deferred, feel you in present..

Seek you in deferred, its about the encounter with your soulmate.

Technical Aspect:

Our main character is a classic guitar. First scene of the track is in reverse playback with filter delay (40% dry/wet) so it gives us the feeling of something backwards yet it sounds very mysterious. In the first drop the guitar is revealed in its original playback. The challenge is to compliment acoustic guitar with electronic sounds and specially towards the drum rack which is basic and key for the track.

All the other elements in the track (Kick, snares, etc) have delays (return channels)

Der Klang der Familie · “The sound of Family” · Film Scoring.

As a kid I was part of a musical orchestra in school until the age of 18. I was first cellist and second drummer.

Developing in this environment gave me a strong base in strings and winds, being fundamental in my way of expression.

These first 4 months in berlin have been really tough and I wrote this piece to my father.

Technical Aspect:

- Cellos in legato and pizzicato.

- Violins.

- Only strings.

- Subtractive EQ.

- Ability to make different layers of strings combine together as one, generating tension and release. Piano as a dream sound.

Saxxxo nights · bass line von toto.

Hip Hop being born as repetition of a certain progression in the vinyl era, inspired me to compose one loop thinking about collaborating with a bass player I know for a while Toto.

The delay generates a smooth and intimate relationship of making the moment last.

Technical Aspect: “The main concept is delay”.

  • Resampling of 6 different styles on the background pad in order to make sound evolve through the track.

  • 2 Different delays in return channels.

  • Delays present in kick, hi hats and pad.

  • 2 Recorded analogue bass lines.

Beyond the darkness.

Once we understand fear is mental, we are able to breakthrough and discover the real magic behind it, this is.. beyond the darkness.

Technical Aspect:

- Atmospheric sounds in the back with convolution reverb.

- Main Glock is made out of dynamic mic recordings, this is a xylophone with delay and higher in pitch.

- Second electric sound is a spoon sent to a return channel that has convolution reverb + flange o tron that has its wet / dry parameter modulated by an LFO.

- Sliced samples with arpeggios and randomizers to get this weird electric textures.

Minimaler Morgennebel.

Minimaler Morgennebel is about traveling long distances to arrive to nature. It reflects my childhood going to Deep South of my Chile, driving 9-10 hours by car really early morning through the fog, then see the sunrise and how the landscape shifted from city to green nature.

Technical Aspect:

- LFO´s to map different parameters.

- LFO different combinations in rate, depth, offset and phase.

- 2 Oscillators with reverb (return channel) to accentuate the distance in sound.

- Atmospheric sounds at the background.

- Looped pad.

Alors on Dance [ Morel remix ].

Building a more intimate relationship with sound was the main inspiration for this remix.

After building a contact microphone, I started experimenting with many different platforms that vibrate.

Empty club mate, marmalade jars, windows, fridges and even microwaves.

70% of all the sounds in this track are made by contact mic recordings, then morphed and equalized.

Technical Aspect:

- Percs recorded with contact mic.

- Resonators to gain more harmonics.

- Diffused long Cascade Echos as return channel for percs.

- Frequency Shifter for bass line.

- Transpose of -24st for some percs.

- Alors on dance acapella.

Doroteja.

This track is about my first piano lesson. For long time I wanted to learn piano and not long ago I met a 2nd year student of CMP, named Doroteja.

After my first piano lesson with her, she decided to jam and push me to explore my pure instinct, this is the result.

Technical Aspect:

- Stanley Piano.

- Two players.

- Single take.
